Exchange Program

exchange_program NCYE-Nepal offers outbound and inbound exchange program to Nepali youth and international participants, respectively. Our out-bound exchange program offers opportunities for Nepali youth interested to join intercultural learning in 31 countries of Asia, Africa, Europe, and Latin America. Details of the ICYE exchange program participating countries are given in www.icye.org. In the meantime, inbound exchange program offer opportunities for international volunteers from any ICYE members countries to join exchange program for 10 months in Nepal.
Outbound program
Any Nepali citizen (irrespective of race, religion, sex, ethnicity, socio-economic status) can apply for the outbound program. NCYE-Nepal accepts the application for the outbound program all around the year. Even though, exchange program starts on August of each year, NCYE-Nepal suggests interested Nepali youth to apply for the program at least 6-8 months in advance because of time consuming selection and visa processing procedures.

Participants interested to apply for the outbound program should meet the following criteria
  • Age between 18 to 27yrs. Some countries like Taiwan, Switzerland and Denmark accept participants up to 30yrs on special request.
  • Understand the philosophy of volunteering and interested in cultural learning
  • Flexible, open-minded, and ready to take the assigned responsibilities
  • Interested to complete at least 11 months of services projects
  • Willing to pay the required fee
  • Not a working abroad opportunity, NCYE-Nepal discourages participants to apply, if they are looking for working abroad opportunities. IT IS COMPLETELY VOLUNTEER PROGRAM
In-bound program
International participants interested to join exchange year in Nepal, please contact ICYE or representative organization in home country. The details of ICYE members’ countries are given in www.icye.org. NCYE-Nepal does not accept in-bound participant directly. Participants must come thorough sending partners. Please contact us if you do not know the sending organization in your country.
