“I had an incredible experience volunteering with ICYE in Nepal. I worked as a health care assistant at Bakulahar Ratnanagar Hospital in Chitwan, and my role involved working closely with patients and their families. Although I was only there for a month, I was able to use all of my previous knowledge to practice and finally get in touch with patients. Even though the language barrier posed a challenge, every day I was able to understand more and communicate better with the locals.

What I loved most about this experience was the overwhelming happiness of the patients and their families. It was so rewarding to see the positive impact we were making on their lives. Overall, my time in Nepal helped me learn a lot about the culture and the people I worked with. It was a truly humbling experience that gave me a new perspective on life.

Besides the volunteer experience Nepal has so much to offer, from the natural beauty like Chitwan National Park or its beutiful landscapes such as Ghorepani and Poonhill, also the enrichmente of culture i have developed has helped me a lot to understand how the society works in terms of culture, religion, style of life and so much more

I would definitely recommend this volunteer program to others. It’s an incredible opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives and gain valuable experience. The organization, ICYE, provided great support throughout the program, and the staff at the hospital were extremely welcoming and helpful. If you’re looking for a meaningful and rewarding volunteer experience, I highly recommend giving ICYE a try.”
